We have been producing software for the educational community since 1992. Originally, the organization was named SoftStart: Custom Software. During incorporation in early 1995, the name was changed to Cogent Computing Corporation. We now concentrate on assessment software.

CQuest Test Authoring and Administration software was first released in 1996. It started out as a single-user package for teachers to create tests. It is now used in variety of ways, mostly in small to large classroom testing environments, many testing more than 100 students at one time. Along with colleges and schools, a large and growing sector of our customer base is within the U.S. Military training environments, for both officers and non-commissioned officers.
